The concept behind this piece was to create something that housed a collection of items. I chose to use my Great Grandfathers, Joe Severson, boxing gloves and shoes. I had been researching my genealogy at this point in the year, just for fun, and remembered that these items had been sitting in my garage for the past decade or so with no permanent home.   This piece was an exploration of time, memory, and the way in which we remember and honor objects that are precious to us. I decided create a natural habitat for these forgotten items by creating a locker room setting and clothesline to display these relics.
